One Bratty Omega (Building the Pack)

I enjoyed the first book in the series, The New Wolf, written by RJ Scott, but this one was quite disappointing.
Lack of editing is unfortunately all too common in this genre, but Ms. Hecht has been writing long enough that it was disappointing to see the amount of errors in this story. Spelling errors, grammar mistakes, missing words, half finished sentences, and punctuation errors throughout the entire book made it difficult to read.
My biggest issues were the inconsistencies though. On one page, everyone seemed to know the identity of the person causing problems, then just a few pages later they all seemed surprised to find out who it was. One one page, Donny recognized someone was a wolf shifter by their smell, then not two pages later, he didn't realize it until he was told. The most confusing thing though, was that in one chapter Proctor confessed that he was confused about everything that had happened and he wasn't sure what to do. Turn the page to the next chapter and poof, that has somehow translated into him being the bad guy and saying horrible things to hurt Donny. I actually went back and looked because I thought I missed a few pages somehow. The dramatic shift in Donny's attitude and way of thinking through the entire book suddenly changed in the last couple pages, and that made no sense either. In fact, very little about this book made sense.
I will probably get the final book in the series, written by Amber Kell, just to see how things turn out, but honestly, this book could be completely skipped and you wouldn't miss much as far as the overall story arc goes. I was hoping for more information about the cold cases Connor started investigating in the first book, because that mystery sounded interesting, but it isn't even mentioned here. The bad guy appears exactly once, and the entire episode involving him takes up maybe 2 pages. This was a waste of time and money.

how can you not fall in love with Donny

Just going to start off by saying, how can you not fall in love with Donny? He's just so darn cute but how he sees himself as an omega is heartbreaking even when others tell him otherwise you just want to wrap him up and hug him. This is the first time I've read this author and I found it to be a great introduction to her writing. Sometimes it felt a bit rushed but then I found it only added to Donny's character, he is a bit rash and on the hyperactive side so I don't think a slow burn would have fit the story, setting, or characters.

A Building romance

This book picks up where the New Wolf left off. I love how Proctor is protective of Donnie even before they hook up. I justwished Donnie had more self confendence. But years of abuse will do that to anyone. Would have liked it better if everyone would have told Donnie what it really (and what he really) means to the pack.
