About the Author
Steve Walker was born and raised in Long Beach, CA. He spent his first ten school years in Catholic schools. He left home at seventeen and lived on his own until he got drafted into the military and was sent to Vietnam. He survived a year of combat and came back to earn a B.S. Engineering at Cal. Poly State University, Pomona and an M.S. Engineering at UCLA. He worked for thirty-eight years as an engineer but his first love was always writing. He has written many short stories but this is his first full length book. He lives with his wife of thirty-nine years in Orange County, CA.

Reality

I am in the middle of this book right now, incredible well written, I grew up in the midst of the same experiences. I would recommend to anyone that grew up in that era to read this, it is great

Not "lost in the 60s"

This book is a very interesting perspective of growing up in the 60s and 70s from the view of a suburban boy and his family. Through the trials of Viet Nam and making it in the corporate world the author succeeds but also fights his demons. I liked the story set in my home town..

I really recommend this read that describe the adventures of a Baby Boomer in the 60's. How the Marine Corps and hard work help overcome the problems faced todays society. Read it and hold on tight.
